NO FOUNT THIS WEEK - HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

  Coming Attractions...
This week - Nov 22:
There's no Fount this week since it's Thanksgiving. Enjoy the holiday, and we'll see you when we all get back!

Next Week - Nov 29th:
Slight change of plans. Instead of having Worship in the Park, Beau Hughes (the new college pastor) is going to be talking, so if you didn't get a chance to meet him last week, come out to meet him on Nov 29th! Since we're not going to have Worship in the Park, WE WILL BE CHANGING THE LOCATION. Be sure to check your e-mail between now and then to find out where we're going to be meeting on Nov 29th.

Christmas in the Zone

  Dec 6th @ 7pm
You are invited to a Village Christmas Party for the North & West Zone on December 6th at 7:00pm!

Dinner will be provided (we're having fajitas...), and you should bring a wrapped White Elephant Gift. We're having a MASSIVE White Elephant exchange.

Your last chance to buy a ticket will be this weekend during the worship services. Tickets are only $5, and you can get one at the table in the foyer during any of the worship services on Nov 25th & 26th.

Come to the party!

Thanksgiving Lunch for the Nations

  A Message from Melissa Martinez

Hey, friends!

I am having a mini-Thanksgiving lunch for some of my international friends this Thursday the 23rd and you are invited to participate. I know that most of you will be out of town with family but you can still be involved.

I'm sure you all understand that most international students aren't able to fly home for such a short holiday, so I wanted to provide something that would make them feel special on this day where most people are with their families. Even if you can't come you can still be involved by simply inviting an international friend or just by letting them know about it.

Its a pot-luck deal where everyone is bringing a little something, but I will get the turkey!! It will be a time of hanging out, eating, giving thanks, and playing some fun games!!

When: Thurs. Nov 23rd
Where: 3653 Briargrove Ln. #1031 Dallas 75287
Time: from 11:30-3:00

If you are interested in participating, here are ways you can help:
- COME!! and love on these people with me!
- Come and bring an international friend with you!
- I am gong to UNT that morning to pick up some friends and I could use an extra car to help carpool them to my apartment in North Dallas (many students from overseas dont have their own cars).
-make a dish or dessert and drop it off!
- invite any international students you know and give them my number. I'll find a way to get them here.

Contact info:
214 288 3011 (this is the best way to reach me) OR email me at Lissa4Christ@hotmail.com

Thanks,
Melissa Martinez

Broomball is coming...

SAVE THE DATE!!

On December 15th, we're going to the Dr. Pepper Star Center in Grapevine to play broomball on the ice!

Broomball is a lot like hockey, with two nets and two teams out on the ice trying to score goals. Instead of hockey sticks and pucks, players use broomsticks and a rubber ball! You wear your street shoes and clothes on the ice, not hockey gear and skates. The ice is cut a special way, so it won't be as slippery as usual.

Mark your calendars, and watch for more details, coming soon!

Nov 1st -- Worship in the Park!

This week we'll be gathering again for Worship in the Park at Shrader Pavilion behind the UNT University Union. Come and gives praises to Him together out in the fresh air and under the stars.

The Fount is our weekly large group gathering, worship time and study time which also serves as our weekly catalyst event to find out more about the college ministry.

Next Week: November 8th, Silver Eagle C Room in the University Union at UNT

Flipside, Nov. 4th
Grills & Guitars @ Eureka Park (South Lakes Park)

Join us as we grill some meat (and veggie burger/soy product/eggplant) and enjoy some live music by some of our own. Just a kick-back Saturday evening. We will get started around 6pm.

I need some of you to help me grill, do some shopping and play us some music. Harmonicas and djembes are welcome to join us. Email me at jvanhorn@thevillagechurch.net if you can help.

Hey everyone, we have a couple of wonderful opportunities to let you know about this summer:

  • summerstudy: a collegiate pursuit of God
  • Summer Leadership Program

summerstudy: a collegiate pursuit of God
summerstudy exists as an opportunity for collegians to invest their summers into knowing God deeply and allowing that knowledge to transform their lives.  We will be reading and discussing Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer, a man who pursued God faithfully, knew Him well and who will serve as our guide while pursuing God this summer.  Cost: $5 for the book, due at first class

When: Study Begins Wednesday, June 7th @ 7:30pm and runs for 8 weeks
Where: BSM building on the UNT Campus
Email villageu@thevillagechurch.net to sign up.

Summer Leadership Program
We have many new things on tap for the summer and upcoming school year and we need you to pull it off.  This will be a great opportunity for you to participate in shaping the college ministry this coming year.  We will have opportunities for leadership in home groups, international students outreach, collegiate men’s and women’s ministries, events, athletics and we will have many opportunities for service in an entirely reworked, rescheduled, and relocated collegiate bible study in the fall.  We will need A/V people, musicians, vocalists, etc.

What will we do in the Summer Leadership Program?  We will spend some time on vision casting, what it means to be a leader, identifying your gifts, and equipping you for your ministry.  Afterwards we will spend some time hanging out and growing together.  Maybe the Tomato, play some ultimate, or just walk the campus in prayer.

When: Wednesdays beginning June 7th at 9:00pm, and running for 8 weeks.
Where: BSM building on the UNT campus

Sign ups:  You must sign up ahead of time!  Email jvanhorn@thevillagechurch.net with the following:  Name, phone number, and email address.  You will receive a response with a few specific questions.  This will help us in determining your giftings, passions, and to make sure you know what you are getting yourself into.
